The Crew

Chris and Sean met on the same crew — Sean was running it. Twenty years in the trade to Chris's twelve, the lead technician and the transfer from a small shop who already knew his way around a panel. What that crew taught couldn't be bought: a company of competing craftsmen run like a football team, graded on high marks, built for the federal government as a client.

Chris moved on to bigger outfits and learned something the industry doesn't like to admit: bigger isn't better trained. The sharpest skills came from the tightest crew. Today the man who led that crew is Vice President of the company his own protégé founded.
